How to Join Tanguear

Tanguear is a community built on trust and quality. Signing up is open and takes a few minutes: you create your account, prove your email with a code, and complete your profile. If a friend invited you, even better — see the last section.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

• A smartphone running iOS or Android
• The Tanguear app installed (available on the App Store and Google Play)
• An email address you can open right away — you will need it during sign-up

Step-by-step registration

1. Open the app and tap "I'm new · Create account" On the welcome screen, choose to create a new account. If you have been here before, use the sign-in button instead.

2. Enter your name, email and password Fill in the form: first name, last name, email, password, and confirm the password. Then tap "Register now". If you mistype your address, the app suggests a correction before you go on.

3. Confirm your email with the 6-digit code Tanguear immediately sends a code to the address you entered — "We sent a 6-digit code to" — and the account is created only after you type it in. A mistyped address leaves no half-made account behind.

On the "Confirm your email" screen:

• Type the code and tap "Verify and continue". It submits by itself when the sixth digit is in.
• The code expires after 10 minutes. Check your spam folder too.
• Didn't get it? You can ask again after a short wait with "Send again".
• Wrong address? Tap "Wrong email? Correct it" and go back to the form.
• A wrong code can be retried a few times; after that, ask for a new one.

There is no separate "confirm your email" step afterwards — the code you just typed is the confirmation.

4. Choose your role Tell the community who you are:

Role	Who it is for
Dancer	Anyone who dances tango
Teacher	Tango instructors and coaches
Musician	Performers and DJs (Musicalizadores)
Musicalizador	DJs who play tango music at milongas
Organization	Event organizers, schools, and academies

You can have more than one role. For example, a dancer who also teaches can select both.

5. Complete your profile Add your photo and a short description of yourself. This is what other tangueros will see when they visit your profile. New accounts are activated once the profile is ready — this short check is how Tanguear keeps the community genuine.

6. Grant permissions Tanguear will ask for:

• Location — to show events near you
• Notifications — to keep you informed about friends, events, and activity

You can accept or decline each permission. You can always change these later in your device settings.

7. You are in Welcome to the Tanguear community.

If a friend invited you

An invitation is no longer needed to sign up, but it is still worth using: if you arrive through a friend's invitation link or code, Tanguear recognises who invited you and you start already connected to each other. Invitations are explained in the guide "Inviting Friends to Tanguear".
